Classic ST
The Robust One

Tested around the world — stable, durable, and drawn on traditional lines that distribute weight evenly. A consistent tube diameter right around the boat gives real lift coming out of big hydraulics and a pretty dry ride; paired with the I-beam floor, tracking is about as predictable as it gets.

Talk to us about a Classic STFully custom · SOTAR raft, cataraft & kayak builder
A design tool built by SOLWYRX for SOTAR’s Classic ST, Liquid SL and Strike rafts, Legend, Classic ST, Liquid SL and Coho catarafts, and SL kayaks. Prices are SOTAR’s published figures; I confirm the final spec and price with SOTAR before you’re invoiced. Work through the numbered steps in the panel and the drawing and price update as you go.
Every boat starts from SOTAR’s published specs. Catarafts are tubes only (I don’t sell frames). Merlin and Rogue boats come as listed in the shop; anything past SOTAR’s limits goes through the quote form.
Overall length. It opens on the 14′, SOTAR’s most popular Classic ST — pick another size and the drawing redraws to that hull’s real factory dimensions.

How Ordering Works
Three ways to buy a SOTAR from me, and what happens after you hit send.
From design to delivery
- Design a Classic ST, Liquid SL or SL kayak in the builder above, or pick a preset in the shop.
- Submit your build with the quote form. On average I respond within 2 business days.
- I confirm the spec and price with SOTAR.
- You get an invoice and pay it in full (Afterpay at checkout covers orders up to $4,000).
- SOTAR builds your boat by hand in Merlin, Oregon (lead time below).
- It ships to you.
Presets and the in-stock Lance skip steps 2–4: you buy them at checkout, the same two ways to pay.
The SOTAR lineup
SOTAR base prices. Classic ST shop presets can cost more because they include the standard maximum number of thwarts. Catarafts are tubes only; frames are not included.
