SOTAR's original self-bailer. The ST keeps the same tube diameter all the way around, which gives it a stable ride and predictable tracking. It's the do-it-all pick for paddle crews, oar rigs and big expeditions, from a tight 10' R2 boat to the 18' Grand Canyon gold standard.

SOTAR's Liquid SL rafts use diminishing tubes: bigger in the middle and tapering toward the ends. That smaller water footprint means quicker turns, better tracking and a more responsive ride. A favorite for rowers and mixed paddle-and-oar trips.

Rafts can be modified in length, interior width, tube diameter and rake. Catarafts can change length and tube diameter, and SL kayaks length. Design changes affect the price.

How much does a SOTAR raft cost?

SOTAR base prices run from $1,200 for the 8' Rondel inflatable kayak to $10,500 for the 18' Liquid SL raft. Classic ST rafts start at $4,830 (10') and Merlin and Rogue rafts start at $3,400. Add-ons, custom changes and shipping add to the price.

How long does it take SOTAR to build a boat?

Every SOTAR is made to order. SOTAR currently lists a lead time of about 8 weeks.

What's the difference between the Classic ST and Liquid SL rafts?

The Classic ST keeps the same tube diameter all the way around for stability and predictable tracking. The Liquid SL uses diminishing tubes that taper toward the ends for a smaller water footprint, quicker turns and a more responsive ride.

What custom options can I add to a SOTAR?

Top chafe and bottom chafe ($22–27 per sq ft), a bottom wrap ($44–54 per sq ft), extra D-rings ($30–60 each), extra thwarts ($300–330 each) and foot cups ($100 each), plus custom colors, logos, valve placement and changes to length, width, tube diameter and rake.

What warranty comes with a SOTAR?

Classic ST, Liquid SL, Strike, catarafts and SL kayaks list a 10-year limited warranty. Merlin and Rogue series boats list a 5-year limited warranty.

Do SOTAR catarafts come with a frame?

No. SOTAR catarafts are sold as tubes only; the frame is not included.

Can I order any SOTAR through SOLWYRX?

Yes. SOLWYRX is an authorized SOTAR dealer. Order a preset from the shop or email Jacob to build a fully custom boat.
